“God’s Vision for the Spiritual Rebuilding of New Orleans ”

This Vision was given by the Holy Spirit and written by

Mary Penton of Heart to Heart Christian Ministries

The Holy Spirit has proclaimed that 2007 is the year of “new beginnings” and that it is a “new beginning” of the “Lord’s favor” upon His people, just as Jesus proclaimed, “The year of the Lord’s favor” in Isaiah 61.  As believers in Christ, God wants to bless each of us with a “new anointing of His Power” to become “vessels of restoration” who will bring hope and encouragement during this time of rebuilding.

Proverbs 29:18 tells us that “without a vision, the people perish.”  But God is faithful!  He has given us a “new vision” through His Word

in Isaiah 61 and 62.  However, we must remember what God says in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people who are called by My name, humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.”  Thus, “spiritual rebuilding” must first begin in the hearts of God’s people!

God is calling His people to pray and proclaim each verse in Isaiah 61 and 62 over our lives, our city, our state, and our nation:

Specifically, in Is. 61, God promises to heal our pain and to strengthen us as “oaks of righteousness” to rebuild the ruined cities. He calls His people to become “priests of our Lord” to repent, pray, and intercede for the people and for our land.  Instead of the “former shame,” He promises to give us a “double portion” of His blessing and joy.  Through His mercy, He calls us back into Covenant relationship with Him and to obedience.  And, when we choose obedience, God promises to “bless our children,” and to “cover us with salvation and righteousness,” as a witness of His love and power to all the nations!

In Is. 62, God promises to bring forth “spiritual cleansing” until we become a “crown of beauty in the Hand of the Lord.”  Then, He promises that we will not be left unwanted or called “Forsaken.” He will “marry” us and change our name as proof of His everlasting love!  God commands us to pray “without ceasing” for healing and deliverance until He defeats our enemies of pride, immorality, idolatry, corruption, etc. and, until His promises are fulfilled.  God also commands the Body of Christ to holiness, in the unity of His Word, to lift a Godly standard or “signal” over the people.  THEN we shall be called “The Redeemed of the Lord,” “The Holy People,” and “A City Not Forsaken!”

HE has given the Vision, but WE must pray!!!
